The two injured workers describe the cascading negative consequences of their injury and treatment by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, whose experience rating program gives employers an incentive to push injured workers back to work and avoid “lost time claims”. But without adequate time to heal, the pain forced Edward and Sead to quit. They speak frankly of the struggle to receive benefits, unrealistic return to work expectations and disastrous impact of the injury on their lives and households.
